From Tecates till closing to Caymus, this couple's journey gave us all the feels and all the drink envy. We especially loved reading about their favorite imbibing experience together. We can only hope they'll invite us next time. Read on to check out Missy and Eric's trip to the alter!
1. So, tell us your cute meet story?
I was out on a Saturday night with my buddy John at a bar called Mother’s Ruin in Nolita. It was late by the time Missy and her roommate Molly walked in and started drinking dressed Tecates. After John felt like heading home we stayed until closing. Mother’s Ruin was right in the middle of our apartments so I walked home to SoHo and she went to the East Village. Now we live 2 blocks away on the Bowery.
2. What do you guys like to drink at home?
Wine all the time! Well, beer for some sunlight hours but evenings are for exploring wines. It seems like we save cocktails for going out. Michter's Rye Whiskey Old Fashioned for me and Dirty Ketel One Vodka Martini for her. Lately, single village mezcal, too.
3. What’s your most memorable imbibing experience together?
Missy’s mom decided to move out of their townhome with a huge wine cellar filled with serious vintages so we thew a party and invited some friends over. That was a fantastic experience to taste all kinds of beautiful bottles and see how well they aged. Everyone had a GREAT time.
4. What was your Signature Drink for guests on your big day?
We served Aperol spritzes during cocktail hour for the guests while we were snapping pictures. Actually, we called them "AperRall Spritz" for the play on my name. It was a perfect drink for a Florida wedding in spring and we love drinking them in the summer.
5. How did you decide on a wine and spirits registry?
I was hoping to add the best wine glasses to our registry but I had trouble figuring out who even carried them. The Zalto glasses are really special so when I found them on ThirstyNest I was thrilled that our guests could also send us spectacular bottles of wine and whiskey. People really seemed to enjoy sending us wine rather than kitchen tools on Amazon which was fine by us! We drank just about everything except for a bottle of Caymus that we’re storing until the birth of our first child.
